TileMatch – Privacy Policy

TileMatch is a tile-installation planning app for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains, in plain language, what data TileMatch handles and what we do (and don’t do) with it.

The short version

• TileMatch stores only what you create: your projects, the tile photos you import or capture, the surfaces you lay out, and the cuts you make.
• Your data is stored on your device and, if iCloud is enabled, in your private iCloud Documents container. It never reaches our servers — we don’t have any.
• TileMatch reads the camera and photo library only when you explicitly ask it to (Smart Capture or Upload Photos).
• We don’t use analytics. We don’t use ad SDKs. We don’t track you across apps.

What data TileMatch handles

What TileMatch does not do

• We do not collect analytics. There is no third-party SDK in this app.
• We do not show advertising.
• We do not transmit your projects, photos, or any other data to any server we control.
• We do not sell your data. We could not — we don’t have it.
• We do not require an account, an email address, or a sign-in.

How sync works

If you are signed in to iCloud and iCloud Drive is enabled, TileMatch stores its projects in your iCloud Documents container. Apple manages the storage; only your devices, signed in to your iCloud account, can read it. Apple’s iCloud privacy applies — we have no access to it.

If you sign out of iCloud or disable iCloud Drive on your device, TileMatch falls back to local-only storage. Your projects are then on the device only and won’t sync.

Camera and photo library

• Camera permission is requested only when you tap Smart Capture inside a project, and is used only for that capture session. Frames are not saved or sent anywhere except the captured photo, which becomes part of your project.
• Photo library permission is requested only when you tap Upload Photos and is used only to import the specific images you select. We do not browse, index, or transmit any other photo in your library.

Image processing

All image analysis runs on your device using Apple’s Vision and Core Image frameworks (rectangle and document segmentation detection, perspective correction, gradient-based corner refinement, LAB-space white balance, feature-print duplicate detection). No image data leaves the device for processing.

Children

TileMatch is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children. The app is rated 4+ on the App Store.

Data retention and deletion

Your data lives in your iCloud Documents container (if iCloud is enabled) and on your devices for as long as you keep the app installed. You can delete projects individually from the app’s project list.

To remove all TileMatch data:

1. Uninstall the app from each device.
2. In iOS Settings, go to Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → TileMatch → Delete Data.

This is a complete, irreversible deletion.

Changes to this policy

If we ever update this policy, the new version will be posted at the same URL with an updated date at the top. We will not change TileMatch to collect more data than this policy describes without prior notice.
